Freemake Video Converter burning error

There is a common issue in Freemake Video Converter when the software stops after 50% burn time, when burning DVD. There are no error messages, it simply freezes up, and you have to click 'Restart'. The first thing to do is to find out if the video or the disk is the cause of the issue. That's done by writing to an image file instead of directly to the disk. If the video can be recorded, the issue is with the drive.
